Episode 19: Why a Pelvic Floor Specialist is a MUST For Your Physical Therapy and Fitness Needs

Moms - if you've ever seen an orthopedic PT or personal trainer that doesn't specialize in pregnancy, postpartum and pelvic floor needs and you didn't get everything you need out of it... listen up! More visits, more copays, or heavier weights isn't the answer - a provider who specializes on your exact needs as a mom, is!

When moms complain about back pain, hip pain, rib pain, etc they often see an orthopedic PT. When moms are struggling with getting their strength or endurance back, or trying to 'lost the baby weight' they often run to Orange Theory, hop on the Peloton, or hire the first personal trainer available at the gym.

The best physical therapist for moms, even moms with issues that they assume are completely unrelated, is a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist. The best personal trainer for pregnant and postpartum women, even if they are years postpartum, and even if they are currently not experiencing issues, is one who is specializes in pelvic floor function.

In today's episode you will learn all about how extensive the list is of everything PFPTs treat, and why the fitness industry is the wild west when it comes to adequately supporting moms. If you are feeling our passion for this topic, please be sure to leave a rating AND a review - we appreciate it so much!
