Episode 140: It's So Much More Than Just Weight Loss - The GLP-1 Conversation We Need to Have
With the popularity of GLP-1s among women recently, it is certainly a strange time to be in a female health and wellness profession. While we truly support women feeling good in their bodies and having goals, we cannot leave out the longer term negative affects that put our independence and overall well being at risk now and well into the future. Just some things to make sure you consider when deciding if a GLP-1 is right for you!
Episode 139: It's a Slippery Slope - Your Questions About Lube Answered
Today's episode is about all things lube! There are a bunch of types and you might have no idea where to start. If you have questions about lube you have been too embarrassed to ask, or lube just doesn't seem to be solving all your problems - listen up!
Episode 138: Pelvic Floor PTs ARE Orthopedic PTs - Specializing in Women's Health is the Key Difference
We both have this conversation with patients and clients so often that we are very overdue on making an episode about it! Physical Therapists all go to PT school and have the same extensive orthopedic training. The difference with a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist, is that they completed additional, and very in depth training, to specialize in all things related to the pelvis and women's health. Therefore, it doesn't make any sense for women in their child bearing years to see a traditional orthopedic PT for their hip pain, back pain, etc - when a Pelvic Floor PT is well trained to treat all of the same ortho needs, in additional to all things related to the pelvis, hips, back, pregnancy, postpartum, etc. It saves many women a lot of time and money going right to the PFPT who is able to look at the big picture at this phase of life, and treat accordingly!
Episode 137: Social Media Etiquette and the Negative Impact it Can Have on Small Businesses
The keyboard warriors have been out in full effect lately - posting anonymously and voicing their opinions of how small businesses choose to operate. In today's episode, we bring to attention the fact that communities need small businesses to thrive, and how easily social media comments can negatively influence how the pubic views a local business.
Episode 136: Exercise While Dealing With Injuries - Should You Try to Keep Up Your Routine or Just Rest?
This is such a common conversation! Both of us often see patients and clients who are dealing with an injury, and also want to keep up with their fitness at the same time, and are unsure how to proceed. It can be scary, because it feels like rest is the safest thing to do. However, there is so much you can do to work on your rehab, work around the injury, and of course go harder with other body parts that shouldn't have to suffer from lack of training in the mean time!
Episode 133: Is Vaginal Estrogen too Good to be True? How This Creme Can Help you Thrive in Postpartum, Perimenopause, and Beyond
More recent research shows that vaginal estrogen is safe for postpartum clients (black box warning has even been removed!) and could really be a game changer when it comes to function and comfort. Listen to this episode to understand if vaginal estrogen could help you in your postpartum recovery, as well as other periods where estrogen is known to drop.

Episode 129: 'I Have to Ask My Husband' - Problems with Partner Involvement (and Lack Of) When it Comes to Women's Health Issues
'I have to ask my husband' is a response to a provider that unfortunately often leads to a patient/client not getting the care they desperately need. Involving a partner in health and financial decisions isn't the issue - we believe partners should always work as a team. The problem is when the partner wasn't involved from the beginning, and may not even know what issues have even come up, and therefore 9/10 times won't be on board with the solution. If this communication is something you struggle with, or are afraid to even bring up the care you need, this episode might help get you headed in the right direction!
Episode 128: Business Owner Insider - What Operating Costs, and Therefore Pricing of Services, Really Looks Like

Episode 127: What You Need to Know About Endometriosis, and Who is Needed on Your Care Team if you Might be Dealing with Endo

If your symptoms are making you wonder if you have endometriosis, and especially if your symptoms have been brushed off in the past, you need to get a second opinion and see an endo specialist and not just any OBGYN!
Episode 126: Plans and Programs Work If You Do The Work - How to Get the Best Results in Treatment or Fitness
When you need help with something specific and seek the help of a provider, you need to actually show up for the care in order to get the results you want. Sounds like a no brainer, right? You may be surprised to find out that often in our line of work, and in talking to other providers we refer to, it happens all too often that clients/patients regularly seek out our services, and then don’t follow through with the plan required for the outcome they need! In today’s episode, we are talking about how commitment needs to come from both sides, the patient and the provider, in order to get the best results!

While HRT might help some women tremendously, we really need to look at the whole picture. Habits, postures, injuries, your fitness foundation (or lack of) and so many other factors come into play.
