Postpartum Recovery
The postpartum program at Vivid is designed to help you reconnect with your core and pelvic floor postpartum and have a clear path to getting back to the activities you love.
Just as you would need physical therapy services after a shoulder injury or knee surgery, pelvic floor physical therapy should be the obvious next step in postpartum recovery.
The body goes through major trauma whether you had a vaginal or Cesarean birth.
During vaginal deliveries, the pelvic floor stretches 300% and C-sections are major abdominal surgery. In both cases, muscle strength and coordination will be affected and you deserve an experienced team of professionals to help you achieve your postpartum activity goals.
What does pelvic floor PT look like postpartum?
Your pelvic floor therapist will work with you to evaluate you for conditions such as prolapse, diastasis recti, constipation, urinary incontinence and core weakness.
We will use a real time ultrasound to help you reconnect with your core and pelvic floor and help guide you back to the activities you love, without worrying about pelvic floor symptoms.
“Jenn is extremely thorough and quickly diagnosed my diastasis recti and pelvic floor weakness as contributing factors to my back pain. After going through a series of exercises, I was already feeling relief. Having a full hour, one-on-one with Jenn was absolutely necessary and crucial to my recovery. ”
