Preparing for birth is NOT about doing more Kegels!

Many women are told that they need to “get the pelvic floor strong for birth”. This is not true! Your pelvic floor muscles have to relax in order to give birth.

Good labor prep teaches you how to connect with your pelvic floor to help you keep labor progressing and push effectively. A good pelvic floor physical therapist is an integral part of your pregnancy team and can help give you a strategy to achieve your birth wishes.

“I had never even considered the vital role pelvic floor would play in my birth preparation. They listened to my concerns, tried various exercises and positioning to alleviate pain and prepare me for labor and worked with me on key breathing techniques as well as perineal massage leading up to our delivery. They even offered a private session for my husband and I to discuss labor positions and help us prepare for birth. Vivid Health gave me the confidence I needed to achieve my birth plan! With minimal tearing and only 27 minutes of pushing, I had been able to labor down and successfully deliver my baby boy...and I attribute this to the help and care I received from Vivid!”
