What can I expect to happen at my first appointment? Every appointment is hands-on with a Doctor of Physical Therapy for the entire session. Evaluations are 90 minutes and follow-up sessions are 60 minutes. We will thoroughly review your medical history and examine any factors that might be contributing to your pain or dysfunction. Evaluations consist of various tests and measures such as movement analysis, muscle assessment and pelvic floor assessment. Your first session will also include treatment including therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular re-education, manual therapy, and instruction in a home exercise program.
How many visits will it take me to get better? Each individual and each person's pain/dysfunction is different, so there isn't one clear answer, however within 2-5 sessions we can expect to see some improvement in your symptoms.
How often will I need to be seen? In order to get a good understanding of the effects of physical therapy on your symptoms, we recommend seeing you at least once per week for the first month. Our goal is to work to decrease the frequency of therapy appointments and have lasting relief of symptoms between sessions.
Do I need a prescription for treatment? Pennsylvania Law allows us to evaluate and treat clients without a prescription! However, some insurances do require a prescription in order to process your claim.
Do you accept my insurance? We believe that to provide lasting relief of symptoms, treatment needs to be thorough, comprehensive and individualized. We provide private, one-on-one hands on treatment with a Doctor of Physical Therapy for at least 60-minutes. Unfortunately, contracting with insurance companies results in them dictating what treatment you receive, based on what is reimbursed. Due to insurance restrictions on number of visits, services reimbursed and hands-on time restrictions with a Doctor of Physical Therapy, we have decided to not contract with any insurance carrier. We accept all forms of payment including health savings accounts (HSA) and flexible savings accounts (FSA).
Depending on your out-of-network benefits, you may have some of your session reimbursed through your insurance company. We are happy to provide you with a superbill (breakdown of codes used) so that you may submit that to your health insurance company for possible reimbursement. You can find out about your out-of network coverage if you call your health insurance company and ask about out-of-network physical therapy coverage.
Are you accepting new patients? We are currently accepting new patients and can typically schedule evaluations with Dr. Jenn within a week. We understand that some facilities are on a month(s) long waitlist for new patients to be seen. Resolving your symptoms is our top priority and we don't believe that you should ever have to wait months to be seen. We are committed to finding a treatment time that works with your schedule.
